This Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Diploma provides the key knowledge and skills required to start your own business. This may also be a suitable qualification for those wishing to change career or move into higher education. The course will require practise and research give you the skills to create a vision and plan for starting up your own business. Course Eligibility

This qualification is open to everyone who is capable of reaching the required entry standard. The potential of each candidate will be assessed and a professional judgement regarding the ability of each candidate to successfully complete the qualification will be made. Ideally, candidates will have achieved previous qualifications at level 2 or above and /or will have sufficient life experience to enable them to have developed the skills to be successful in planning and starting up their own business.
Learner profiles are likely to include one of the following:

  • A level 2 qualification in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship or a related vocational area
  • A standard of literacy and numeracy supported by a general education equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade A*- C
  • Other related L2 qualifications
  • Related work experience

More mature learners may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include experience of paid and/or unpaid employment or life experience.

What will I learn?

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma course covers business and management, financial planning, market research, creative product promotion, leading and managing teams.

How will I learn?

Learning will be via Distance Learning. Your course will be delivered through online assessment using our latest Virtual Learning Environment, one to one tutorials with your Tutor (phone, e-mail & face-to-face Skype) and group web-based webinars. (See Study Style)

You will be expected to typically commit to a minimum of 12 hours per week of independent study to suit your personal circumstances. This is the recommended guideline to support you to achieve.

You will be expected to develop and demonstrate a range of vision, skills and behaviours that support competence to plan and start up a micro business

How will my work be assessed?

There are a range of assessment techniques for the subjects covered which include online assignments using our Virtual Learning Environment, Business Plans and Models, Marketing and Financial Plans, reflective accounts, witness testimonies, developing projects and subject related discussions with friends, family, employers, colleagues and tutor. Assessments are graded Pass, Merit, Distinction. There will be an emphasis on research, likely to be mainly web based, into successful entrepreneurs and analysis of the vision, products and strategies that enabled them to be successful or unsuccessful in order to develop potential models for emulation.

Syllabus

UNITS:

3 mandatory units providing 180 GLH and 30 credits plus optional units for a combined total of 360 GLH – 30 credits for the completed qualification of 60 credits.

Whats Next

Learners who achieve the Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Diploma – Level 3 QCF can progress onto another Level Vocational Course at Level 3 for e.g. in Management, Marketing, Finance, or IT. Learners may also continue onto a similar course as the Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Diploma but at Level 4 or to a related Higher Education course
